Happy October! It’s midterm season which means the rain has arrived and many of us are surrounded by study notes, coffee in hand. As we enter a new month and a new season, we are very excited to introduce our new Chapman Learning Commons Web-Team duo Kenny and Selina!
As we enter a new month and a new season, join us for a new episode of in[Tuition] as we say a final farewell to the brilliant summer web team, Laila and Flint. You’ll hear from CLC Learning Services Librarian, Alex Kuskowski, on why the future of libraries is all about community and connection, meet our new CLC Web-Team duo Kenny and Selina, and hear from Laila and Flint as they reflect on their time at the CLC.
Final Reflections and Farewells from Laila and Flint
We began the summer term by setting out some goals that we would like to achieve and provided some tips on how to make the most use of your time. What challenges do you plan to take on? What is something you have learned in the past summer that you can carry with you as you move one? What are the new opportunities or experiences that you can embrace?
For the web team duo here at CLC, this past summer has been a period of growth and learning. On top of the many hard skills and capacities we have acquire, we learned so much about ourselves and one another. More importantly, we learned about the value of teamwork and mutual support.
Our achievements could not have been possible without the support of many individuals. We would like thank the Learning Commons web team for pushing us in our projects and for guiding us throughout the multiple hurdles we experience. Additionally, we would also like to acknowledge the support of our fellow CLCAs – Namomba, Stephen and Selina – in inspiring us to produce our best work.
Finally, we would like to thank YOU for tuning in and staying with us throughout this journey.
~ Laila and Flint
Laila and Flint’s thoughtful consideration of their experience working at the Chapman Learning Commons also serves as a reminder on the importance of self-reflection. Self reflection may at first glance seem redundant but it can help you to further develop your skills, learn from your mistakes, and engage with your learning on a deeper level.
